The VnExpress Marathon Green Paradise Can Gio, scheduled for 1/5, has garnered significant interest among the southern running community since its announcement. According to Huynh Nhu, administrator of the P2P Community group—a running community active in the Dam Sen area—most members are excited for a new experience. Just five days after internal registration opened, nearly 1,200 people registered, with most choosing the 10km and 21km distances.

Nhu stated that the club is planning to rent buses for members to travel together. Traveling to Can Gio requires crossing the Binh Khanh ferry, so shared transport will save both time and costs compared to using personal vehicles.
A P2P representative believes that an additional race in TP HCM provides runners with more opportunities to challenge themselves and experience a new route together. Nhu added, "Can Gio stands out with its green route and is expected to include a coastal section, so members are highly anticipating it."
VietRunners, another running group in TP HCM, also has dozens of members who have completed registration. Do Thuy, a group representative, said that most members view the new VnExpress Marathon race as an opportunity for experience and exploration during the holiday, rather than prioritizing personal bests (PRs).

Do Thuy shared that since the first details were revealed, the race has been a hot topic of discussion among members. The most appealing aspect is the route, which is over 80% green, combining mangrove forest and coastal scenery, a unique feature within TP HCM. "It's an ideal route", Do Thuy said, "where you can feel the tranquility passing through the forest and the excitement upon seeing the sea. Therefore, many runners want to experience it."
The VietRunners representative noted that registration numbers are still increasing rapidly as it is currently the discounted ticket phase. The club is working out travel and accommodation plans and hopes the organizers will provide additional logistical support for participants.

Coach Luu Chi Hung, who has nearly 30 years of running experience and has served as race director for several national races, is also paying special attention to VM Green Paradise Can Gio. He, along with many friends and students, will compete there soon. According to him, if well-organized, the event could become a marathon highlight in TP HCM due to its unique route characteristics.
Registration for the Super Early Bird phase is open until 31/3. Ticket prices are 330,000 VND for the 5km distance, 450,000 VND for 10km, 600,000 VND for 21km, and 790,000 VND for the 42km distance. After this phase, bib prices will gradually increase in subsequent phases.
