Following her participation in the WTA 125 tournament in Antalya, Turkey in mid-march, Udvardy announced her unexpected decision to join OnlyFans, a paid content platform. This move aims to expand the Hungarian tennis player's personal brand beyond the court.
Udvardy previously disclosed receiving a series of threatening WhatsApp messages from an unknown number. The messages demanded the 27-year-old player intentionally lose matches, warning of danger to her family if she refused. These threats, accompanied by images of weapons, made the incident serious. Police intervened to protect Udvardy's family.

Udvardy suspects her personal data may have been leaked from the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) data system. Authorities are investigating this issue. In a social media statement, Udvardy affirmed that joining OnlyFans is not merely a temporary reaction to the incident, but also a strategic move to control her online personal image.
"I want to share more about my life, not just tennis," Udvardy stated, emphasizing her desire to connect directly with fans and build her personal brand.
Udvardy continues to compete professionally, maintaining a ranking around the top 100 and having reached a career-high of world number 76. Her decision reflects a new trend in tennis, where many players outside the top tier seek income from digital platforms.
Udvardy's experience underscores the significant pressure tennis players endure. Beyond on-court performance, they contend with betting-related issues, personal data breaches, and direct threats. Consequently, developing independent income streams and controlling one's personal image—as Udvardy is doing—is becoming a common strategy in modern professional sports.

Udvardy's situation is not unique. Other players, such as Sachia Vickery and Arina Rodionova, have also joined OnlyFans.
This trend, however, remains controversial, particularly among former tennis players. Ashley Harkleroad is a notable example. After retiring, the former world number 39 transitioned to OnlyFans, posting sensual content and attracting a large following. Her choice sparked mixed reactions within the tennis community, especially given Harkleroad's reputation for bold decisions, such as posing for Playboy magazine.
