Doan Van Hau has signed a contract extension with Cong an Ha Noi (CAHN) until the end of the 2028-2029 season. He expressed gratitude for the team's unwavering support during his long-term injury, which enabled his return to play. "I clearly sense the club's goals and determination for the coming years, especially their ambition to conquer international titles. That is why I want to continue with the club," Van Hau stated.
His wife, Doan Hai My, accompanied him to the ceremony at the club's headquarters in Ha Noi. Van Hau wore a white shirt with a tuxedo jacket, while Hai My opted for a light-colored long dress and simple accessories. He drove them to the venue and opened the door for his wife upon arrival.
Doan Hai My, 25 years old, was a top 10 finalist in Miss Vietnam 2020. She married Van Hau in late 2023, and they have one son. My often accompanies her husband to important events and also styles their outfits.

The defender, originally from Thai Binh (now Hung Yen), joined Cong an Ha Noi in the 2023 season and contributed to their V-League championship. He later suffered Achilles tendonitis in 9/2023. However, the injury proved more complex than initially assessed, requiring him to travel to Singapore for examination and multiple surgeries. He made his official return to play on 3/12/2025, when CAHN drew 1-1 with Buriram United in the 2025-2026 ASEAN Club Championship.
Doan Van Hau, born in 1999, developed through the Ha Noi youth academy. He was a member of the national team that finished fourth in U19 Asia 2016, securing a spot in the FIFA U20 World Cup 2017. Later, under coach Park Hang-seo, Hau was a key player in achieving second place at U23 Asia, fourth at ASIAD, and winning the AFF Cup in 2018 (now the ASEAN Cup).
After winning all domestic titles with Ha Noi FC, Van Hau moved abroad to SC Heerenveen in the Dutch National League for the 2019-2020 season. He then returned to Ha Noi FC before joining CAHN at the start of the 2023 season.
In addition to Van Hau, CAHN also extended contracts until 6/2029 for center-back Tran Dinh Trong and midfielder Le Pham Thanh Long. Brazilian forward Alan Sebastiao, meanwhile, extended his contract until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
Most key players remain under contract, including Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Dinh Bac until the end of the 2026-2027 season, and Phan Van Duc and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh until 2027-2028. The two players whose contracts expire at the end of this season are goalkeeper Nguyen Filip and center-back Bui Hoang Viet Anh.
