To celebrate National Day on 2/9, the organizing committee of VnExpress Marathon Grand Tour Nghe An 2026 is launching a bib price discount program for local athletes. The program is valid from 26/8 until 17/9, which is the registration closing date for the race.
The VnExpress Marathon Grand Tour Nghe An 2026 will take place on 27/9 in TP Vinh, expecting 7,000 athletes. This marks the 11th event in the VnExpress Marathon system this year. The race features four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. The full marathon distance is a distinct feature compared to many other races previously held in Nghe An and the surrounding region.
Interested runners can register here.
According to the organizing committee, the "Grand Tour" model focuses on exploring an entire region. This model plans to take runners to new destinations in future seasons, with Nghe An serving as the inaugural leg.

The organizing committee has not yet announced the official course for 2026. Initial disclosures suggest the start and finish lines will be at Ho Chi Minh Square in TP Vinh. The provisional route is expected to pass through Lenin Boulevard, the inner-city axis connecting the city center to Vinh International Airport, which underwent an upgrade with an investment of over 500 billion VND.
A highlight for the longer distances is Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard, Nghe An's largest road. The main road is 32 m wide with 8 lanes, spanning 10,8 km, and is almost entirely flat. Rice fields and mountains flank both sides. This route opened to traffic in late 8/2024 after more than a decade of construction.
This season's medal features a 6-sided frame with pointed corners, inspired by Thanh co Vinh. The frame material is antique silver. The medal's center depicts the characteristic thatched roofs of Lang Sen, Kim Lien commune, against a dark green background. Engraved bamboo fences, areca palms, and a lotus pond with silver-embossed lotus flowers are subtly visible on the reverse side.
Velosar manufactures the race jersey, which transitions from dark moss green to light green, forming a V-shape on the chest. The design draws inspiration from Nghe An's bamboo fences, tea hills, and rice fields. Athletes completing the 21km and 42km distances will receive an additional finisher's shirt. Herbalife is the nutrition partner for the race.
In 5/2025, VnExpress Marathon collaborated with the Hiep hoi The thao Cong an Nhan dan Viet Nam and the UBND tinh Nghe An to organize the "Hanh trinh theo chan Bac - Vi an ninh To quoc" race at Ho Chi Minh Square. That event attracted 2,000 athletes across three distances. The Grand Tour marks the second time VnExpress has organized a race in this locality.
