A tropical depression forming near the equator and moving north into the East Sea is an unprecedented event in meteorological history, according to Mai Van Khiem.
A rare tropical depression is moving from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, heading towards the southern East Sea, while Typhoon Koto remains present northwest of Truong Sa.
Before entering the East Sea, the tropical depression is expected to intensify into a typhoon, with forecasts predicting peak speeds of 110 km/h, equivalent to level 11.
