A pagoda situated on a 'rock garden' in the middle of Nha Trang Bay

Tu Ton Pagoda, located on Hon Do islet within Nha Trang Bay, offers a serene space abundant with greenery, attracting many visitors.

Tu Ton Pagoda is located on Hon Do island, about 300 m from Nha Trang's coastline. According to locals, Most Venerable Thich Vien Man built the pagoda in 1960 and named it after Maitreya Buddha.

Hon Do covers an area of over 20,000 m2. It is one of two islands within the Hon Chong - Hon Do scenic complex, which was recognized as a national heritage site in 1998. Many liken the island's beauty to a "giant rock garden" with various colors, formed by interwoven rock formations.

On days with low tide, visitors can walk to the island.","To reach Tu Ton Pagoda or Hon Do, visitors park their vehicles on the mainland near the island for 10,000 VND per turn. Afterward, a canoe transports visitors to Hon Do for a voluntary contribution, as the pagoda does not charge a fee."]"}

The path leading to the pagoda is lined with abundant greenery, along with decorative elements and small bridges.

Locals state that the island was previously wild and undeveloped. To create the verdant space seen today, monks daily transported fresh water to the island to cultivate and plant trees before establishing the pagoda.

Stone paths wind through green canopies, alongside outdoor shrines and altars, evoking a sense of peace.","Additionally, the pagoda grounds feature karma illustrations depicting the law of cause and effect (doing good leads to blessings, doing evil leads to suffering), aiming to impart moral education and encourage people to live virtuously."]"}

The pagoda features diverse worship spaces, including altars for Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva seated on a lotus throne, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and the Thousand-Armed, Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. These are intricately carved, alongside plaques and images of other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Following the stone path within the pagoda towards the sea, visitors can also find an altar dedicated to Mother Dieu Tri Dia Mau, nestled beside a natural rock face.

Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of Nha Trang Bay, including islands like Hon Yen and Hon Tre, from the rocky outcrop in front of the pagoda.
