Da Nang, Vietnam's sole representative, has been recognized as the second-best summer destination in Asia by Lonely Planet, the leading global travel guide. The list, titled "The Best Places to Visit in Asia This Summer," was unveiled on 1/5.
Lonely Planet highlighted Da Nang's appeal as a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly on its renowned beaches such as My Khe and Non Nuoc. The city boasts a diverse tourism ecosystem, encompassing pristine forests, distinctive architecture like the Dragon Bridge, and rich cultural imprints found at the Cham Sculpture Museum. Additionally, Da Nang is conveniently located nearly an hour's drive from Hoi An, a UNESCO heritage site.

Beyond its natural beauty and cultural richness, Da Nang stands out for its convenience and reasonable cost of living, making it one of Southeast Asia's most livable cities. Lonely Planet also recommends that visitors indulge in local culinary delights, suggesting various 'che' (sweet soups) and 'ca phe sua da' (iced milk coffee) when exploring Da Nang and Vietnam.
The comprehensive list of top Asian summer destinations includes: Busan (South Korea), Singapore, Shimla (India), Bali (Indonesia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Sendai (Japan), Chengdu (China), and Altai Mountains (Mongolia).
Lonely Planet noted that Southeast Asia's climate, characterized by clear blue and sunny skies, is ideal for summer travel during June, July, and August. This makes the region, particularly the beaches in Indonesia and Vietnam, a prime choice for vacationers.
Founded in 1973 by husband and wife Tony Wheeler and Maureen Wheeler in Melbourne (Australia), Lonely Planet has, for decades, been considered a globally influential travel guide. Its rankings and recommendations play a significant role in shaping international tourism trends.
