54-year-old Nur Idni Anwar (Nunik) was traveling in Europe with her husband and two children. While on the metro in Paris, they noticed three young women, aged around 19 or 20, two of whom were pregnant and standing. Nunik offered her youngest son's seat to one of the pregnant women. Minutes later, Nunik realized her wallet, containing 420 EUR, was missing from her bag.
Suspecting the three women were a professional pickpocketing team, Nunik kept a close watch on them. When one of the women exited the train at the next station, Nunik and her husband followed and searched for her. Nunik caught the woman and demanded answers.
During the confrontation, Nunik shouted to attract attention and expose the theft. Two local bystanders helped Nunik persuade the suspect to cooperate and assisted the Indonesian family in contacting the police. About an hour later, after a phone call, one of the other pregnant women returned and gave the wallet back to Nunik.
The police arrived and took the suspects for questioning. Despite missing 70 EUR, Nunik declined to press charges and asked the police not to detain the pregnant women.

The incident occurred in April during the family's trip, but the story gained wider attention after Nunik's husband, Rawi, shared it on Instagram in July. The video of the incident garnered nearly 70,000 views and over 2,000 comments within seven days.
Rawi stated the lost money was a significant amount for their family. "We gave up our seat because they were pregnant. They, in turn, stole our wallet. Kindness doesn't always beget kindness," he said.
The incident has sparked considerable interest on Indonesian social media, with many praising Nunik's alertness and decisive action in handling the situation in a foreign country. Many consider it a valuable lesson in staying vigilant in crowded tourist areas.
