Rose trees bloom along Quang Nam countryside road

A road lined with rose trees passing through the fields of Duy Phuoc commune, Duy Xuyen district, is in full bloom, attracting thousands of visitors on weekends.

For over a week, rose trees have been blooming along Provincial Highway 3, through Hoa Binh village, Duy Phuoc commune, Duy Xuyen district. The road is a curve, about 7 km from Hoi An ancient town.

The rose trees were planted by Duy Phuoc commune more than 3 years ago. The trees are spaced about 3 meters apart, and the tallest ones have now reached nearly 3 meters in height.

Le Hai, chairman of the Duy Phuoc People's Committee (DPC), said the local government implemented the model green road as part of the new rural development plan. Nearly 100 rose trees were purchased through social contributions at a price of 300,000 VND per tree.

"The blooming trees have attracted many visitors to take photos, especially on weekends," he said.

The rose trees bloom once in the summer, from early June to July. Last year, the trees were smaller and produced fewer flowers, but this year all the planted trees are in full bloom. After a week, the flowers are still vibrant, and new buds continue to open.

The rose tree is a woody plant native to East Asia, growing from 3 to 5 meters tall.

Visitors of all ages come to the road to take pictures.

Some stone benches have also been placed under the rose trees for visitors to rest and pose for photos.

On both sides of the road are vast fields of lush green rice, creating a picturesque countryside scene.

Minh Ngoc said that rose trees are planted throughout Quang Nam, but sparsely. This is the place with the most rose trees planted together. "Since the trees are newly planted and the flowers are at a lower height, it makes for beautiful photos," Ngoc said.

A group of older people in traditional Ao Dai dresses stand on the sidewalk, taking pictures with the row of rose trees.

"This is a model road, and from this road, the government will expand the planting of trees on other roads," said Le Hai, DPC chairman.
