Sa Pa is gearing up for a vibrant New Year's Eve 2026 celebration, with a series of events planned for 31/12 in the town's central area. This event will feature exhibitions, art performances, and local culinary experiences, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity to usher in the new year.

Later that day, starting at 19h, the semi-finals of the Miss Tourism Vietnam 2026 competition will take place at the Event Square. This competition will showcase contestants delivering culturally rich performances, aiming to promote the unique image of Sa Pa – Lao Cai. Immediately following this, the new year countdown program will begin at 23h, featuring various art performances by renowned artists.

The central area will transform into a hub of music, lights, and excitement. Amidst the cool mountain town weather, locals and visitors will join in the countdown, sharing the moment of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming 2026. At the stroke of midnight (0h on 1/1/2026), a spectacular 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display will illuminate the Sa Pa sky.

Beyond the central celebrations, the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area offers unique winter experiences. Given favorable weather, visitors have the chance to witness ice and snow on Fansipan peak – a natural phenomenon occurring only during deep cold spells. On the "Roof of Indochina", visitors can cloud hunt, check in at the Fansipan 3,143m landmark, or explore the spiritual complex with the Great Amitabha Buddha statue, Kim Son Bao Thang Pagoda, and Bich Van Thien Tu. The live show "Sacred Peak Journey" also provides an immersive cultural experience.
