On 4/8, Suvarnabhumi airport issued an apology regarding its handling of a group of fans who followed Chinese actors, causing disorder and disrupting a Thai Airways International flight.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on 30/7, as two Chinese artists, Sun Zheng and Lu Sitong, were checking in for Thai Airways flight TG674 from Bangkok to Beijing.

According to reports, these individuals were "sasaeng fans," overly zealous admirers who deliberately followed their idols, took photos, and breached airport security barriers.
They purchased tickets for the same flight and followed the artists into the lounge area, despite not being permitted. After being asked to leave, the group continued to follow the artists to the departure gate, refused to cooperate with ticket checks, and attempted to board the aircraft simultaneously with the artists. The airline then had to temporarily close the aircraft door to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering.
Thai Airways refused to transport 22 individuals from this group due to their non-compliance with security procedures and airline regulations. The airline expressed concern that the disorder could continue after takeoff, affecting flight safety and causing delays. 12 people agreed to have their checked baggage removed; the remaining 10 reacted strongly, provoking duty staff.
Airport management stated that security forces acted to ensure passenger safety and flight operations. However, some staff members exhibited inappropriate behavior, failing to meet the airport's service standards. "The airport apologizes for the actions of the involved staff," the announcement stated, adding that the security personnel who behaved improperly had faced disciplinary action.
The incident occurred just days after security staff at a GMMTV event in Bangkok drew criticism for being heavy-handed with a Chinese female audience member. GMMTV later stated that this individual had cut in line, caused a disturbance, and attacked a security staff member when asked to leave the area. The company admitted it had not fully assessed the incident and revoked its decision to suspend the involved staff.
