Situated a 20-minute drive from the main road through the Namib Desert, the pink refrigerator, installed by the Namibia Tourism Board, has become one of the country's most popular attractions. It was conceived as a modern-day oasis where weary travelers can stop for refreshment under the intense heat.
The Namib Desert in Namibia is considered the oldest and driest desert in the world, so it seems unbelievable that a functioning pink refrigerator exists in such a harsh environment. Next to the refrigerator are two pink chairs and a pink table where travelers can rest and drink.
The solar-powered refrigerator offers free drinks, reflecting the renowned Namibian hospitality. According to reports, the refrigerator is restocked multiple times daily with bottled water, iced tea, and other refreshments. However, due to its increasing popularity, it is often empty by evening.
Initially, many were skeptical about using drinks from an unusual refrigerator in the middle of the desert. But after images spread across Instagram, travelers worldwide flocked to Namibia to see and experience it for themselves.

The refrigerator sits on a small mound, an ideal spot to take in panoramic views of the Namib Desert and admire the vibrant sunsets. However, if you plan to sit at the adjacent pink metal table, be cautious, as the chairs, exposed to the sun all day, can get scorching hot.
