Three new attractions coming soon to Singapore

A national oceanarium, a Disney cruise ship, and a multimedia art museum are set to debut in 2025.

2025 marks a new milestone for Singapore's tourism sector with several new attractions and multi-million dollar infrastructure upgrades. The island nation will soon reopen its largest aquarium after renovations, rebranded as the Singapore Oceanarium. Also launching are the Disney Adventure Cruise and the IMBA Theatre, a multimedia museum. Earlier this year, the Rainforest Wild Asia Resort, a rainforest-themed wildlife park, and Kada, a lifestyle complex, opened their doors, offering new experiences for tourists and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) groups.

Singapore Oceanarium: After three months of upgrades, Singapore's largest aquarium, formerly the S.E.A. Aquarium, is reopening as the Singapore Oceanarium. Part of Resorts World Sentosa's RWS 2.0 expansion plan, it is slated to reopen at the end of July. Three times larger than its predecessor, the new oceanarium promises a completely new journey of ocean discovery.

Besides a diverse marine ecosystem, the oceanarium incorporates high-tech digital exhibits and houses an adjacent ocean conservation research center. Visitors can immerse themselves in an interactive underwater world while experiencing the importance of marine conservation and sustainability.

Disney Adventure: Later this year, the Disney Adventure cruise ship will set sail from Singapore. With a capacity of approximately 6,000 guests and 2,300 crew members, the ship offers a variety of family-friendly entertainment, immersive experiences, and themed dining.

Guests can become part of the exclusive musical "Duffy and The Friend Ship." The Marvel Style Studio allows transformations into superheroes, while the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique lets children experience being Disney princesses or knights. Kids can also enjoy "The Royal Tea Party" with Disney princesses, watch the outdoor show "Captain Jack Sparrow's Adventure," and more.

A highlight is the Ironcycle Test Run, the first-ever roller coaster on a Disney Cruise Line ship, inspired by the Iron Man films and featuring Tony Stark's virtual assistant, Friday. Over 20 restaurants and bars serve everything from quick bites to themed feasts within the Disney, Marvel, and Pixar universes.

The inaugural three-night cruise departs on 15/12, with two full days at sea. The launch will include additional 3- and 4-night itineraries, plus a limited number of 5-night voyages. Updates and special offers are available on the Disney Cruise Line website.

IMBA Theatre: Opening later this year, IMBA Theatre is a new multimedia art museum focusing on immersive and interactive art. The opening will feature international and local artists, an exhibition of sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, and murals by Singaporean artist Yip Yew Chong. Nanyang Polytechnic (School of Design & Media) will showcase the Nanyang style of art. Combining art with technology, IMBA Theatre is poised to become a significant cultural destination, connecting visitors with local and international contemporary art.

Rainforest Wild Asia and Kada: Earlier in 2025, Singapore welcomed two new attractions. Rainforest Wild Asia, a rainforest-themed wildlife park spanning 13 hectares within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, opened in early 2025. It's home to rare animals like Francois' langurs and sun bears, with over 7,000 Southeast Asian rainforest trees planted and 320 mature trees preserved from the original secondary forest.

Visitors can experience a multi-layered rainforest across 8 zones, simulating ecosystems from forest floor to canopy. There are walking trails and adventurous trekking routes involving climbing, waterfall jumping, and ziplining.

A key attraction is The Cavern, modeled after the UNESCO World Heritage Site Mulu Caves (Malaysia), featuring cave chambers, limestone cliffs, subterranean ecosystems, and a 60-meter dark tunnel with giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches visible under a glass floor. Ranger Talks led by experienced rangers offer insights into wildlife. The Cavern Restaurant serves Western dishes, desserts, and Asian-inspired cocktails.

The Banyan Tree Mandai Rainforest Resort, also within the reserve, opened in April, offering sustainable luxury accommodation with modern amenities. The 338-room resort maximizes natural ventilation, utilizes eco-friendly technologies like rainwater harvesting and energy-saving systems, and holds Singapore's Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification. It offers easy access to Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, and Rainforest Wild Asia, along with a Banyan Tree spa, a rooftop pool, and the Rangers' Club for children.

Kada, a revitalized century-old building, offers diverse dining, wellness, entertainment, and co-living accommodation across 4 floors. Located at 5 Kadayanallur St, near Maxwell Food Centre and a three-minute walk from Maxwell MRT station, the ground floor houses local cafes and restaurants, including Echo House, known for its House Espresso, "Here Comes the Sun" espresso tonic, Bolo Croissant, and Popo's chocolate cake.

The second floor is dedicated to wellness with 5 studios offering pilates, personal training, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy. Shiruki Studio specializes in hydrotherapy treatments like ice baths, infrared saunas, and ultrasonic bubble baths, while Satori Pilates focuses on physical and mental balance.

The third floor hosts Habyt co-living accommodation, allowing guests to enjoy Kada's wellness facilities. The fourth-floor rooftop features restaurants and art spaces, including Closed on Sundays by Lil' Palette, an art therapy and workshop studio with memberships for adults and children, and Proud Potato Peeler, a private dining space with a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean menu.

A unique feature is one of Singapore's oldest electric elevators, dating back to 1929 and manufactured by Major and Stevens (UK), which is still operational. Non-residents can visit the complex from 8:30 am to 10 pm daily.

These all-in-one destinations, integrating entertainment, art, and various amenities, are a focus of Singapore's tourism investment, enhancing the visitor experience.
