Vietnam Airlines operates over 28,000 domestic flights for peak summer season

Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO, will provide nearly 5.5 million seats on its domestic network from now until 16/8 to meet peak summer travel demand.

Under its plan, Vietnam Airlines Group will operate 28,300 domestic flights, offering nearly 5.5 million seats. This represents a 5% increase in flights and a 3% rise in seats compared to the same period last year. These additional flights will focus on routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) with popular tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, Quy Nhon, as well as areas with high travel demand like Buon Ma Thuot, Vinh, and Can Tho.

Beyond peak hours, the airlines will continue to operate early morning and late-night flights, offering flexible fares. According to the airline, this strategy aims to distribute daily demand and enhance operational efficiency during the summer.

Additionally, the airline is offering many promotional fares, accounting for up to 40% of available seats on various routes.

Vietnam Airlines is also running several promotional programs on its online sales channels. The Quick Sale App program applies every tuesday with discounts up to 10%; the Thu Nam Ruc Ro program provides up to 15% off, while Weekend Sale offers up to 10% across all fare classes.

A representative from the airline stated that to accommodate the summer peak season, Vietnam Airlines Group prepared resources from the start of the season, proactively arranging aircraft, personnel, and enhancing service capacity at airports. The airline also enhanced technology application in operational management to ensure service quality and on-time performance.

Soon, the airline will launch a direct Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) - Phuket route, inaugurate the Hanoi - Amsterdam route from 6/2026, and increase the frequency of the Hanoi - Moscow route to 4 flights per week from 1/7.

The airline advises passengers to plan and book tickets early via its website, mobile app, or agents for more options regarding itineraries and fares. Customers can also check in online within 24 hours before departure through the website, Vietnam Airlines app, airport kiosks, or the "Dich vu hang khong" (Aviation Services) feature on the VNeID level 2 app.
