The pink trumpet trees were planted by Chau Thanh District People's Committee to enhance the landscape starting in 2012, with additional plantings occurring in subsequent years. Currently, nearly 300 trees line the sidewalks on both sides of the road, each spaced more than 5 meters apart.
Pink trumpet trees, or bell trees, are scientifically known as Tabebuia rosea. They belong to the Bignoniaceae family and are native to the Americas. The flowers are bell-shaped, powdery pink, and grow in clusters with delicate petals. Local residents note that the pink trumpet trees are most stunning for about two weeks from the onset of blooming. They typically bloom in April; however, this year's hot weather caused them to bloom early, from mid-March.

Since 2019, when the trees first began to bloom, the pink trumpet tree street gained popularity. It is now a favored check-in location for many young tourists during March.
Photographer Phan Hoang noted that March is a lucrative month for him, with demand for pink trumpet tree photo shoots 3-4 times higher than usual.
"During this period, I receive even more clients than during Tet (Lunar New Year), shooting continuously from morning until evening without a break", he said.

"I take photos and post them on social media with the aim of promoting local tourism during March", Nguyen said.

Photographer Huynh Phuong suggests the optimal times for photography are from 7-9 a.m. when the sun is rising, or capturing the sunset from 4-5 p.m. Visitors should select densely bloomed trees and use a low camera angle to include both the sky and the flower canopies.
Phuong added that Can Tho's weather in March is around 25-28 degrees Celsius, dry and suitable for travel. The number of visitors is high from early morning, particularly on weekends.
