General Secretary and President To Lam will attend and deliver a key speech at the UN General Assembly's high-level debate, affirming Vietnam's strong support and commitment to the UN's central role in multilateral cooperation and promoting respect for international law.

The General Secretary and President's working visit and bilateral activities in the US will contribute to implementing the shared understanding between high-level leaders of Vietnam and the US. It will further promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, fostering stable, substantive, effective, and sustainable development.

This occasion also allows both sides to enhance high-level engagement, discuss strategic and long-term issues for bilateral relations, deepen mutual understanding, and garner support from various sectors for Vietnam and the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship.

Regarding Canada, this visit by the General Secretary and President will generate strong political momentum, driving Vietnam-Canada relations to develop more substantively, balancedly, and effectively, commensurate with the potential, strengths, and needs of both nations.

Both sides maintain regular exchanges and contacts at all levels. Cooperation in addressing war legacies stands as a highlight in the bilateral relationship. Economy, trade, and investment have become driving forces, with increasing interconnectedness and mutual support.

Both sides are actively expanding cooperation into new, strategic, and future-shaping areas. These include science and technology, innovation, the semiconductor industry, AI, energy transition, and high-quality human resource development.

Defense and security cooperation continues to develop effectively, strengthening political trust between both sides. People-to-people exchanges, education, healthcare, and culture are expanding. The Vietnamese community in the US continues to act as a bridge, contributing positively to bilateral relations.

Regarding Vietnam-Canada relations, after more than half a century of establishing diplomatic ties and nearly a decade of implementing the Comprehensive Partnership framework, both countries have built an increasingly solid foundation for their relationship.
