The White House announces schedule for hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping

The US has announced the schedule for President Xi Jinping's visit, including a reception at Joint Base Andrews, a state dinner, a tea reception, and a tour of the National Archives.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly announced that on 23/9, President Trump will host President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan at Joint Base Andrews. On 24/9, President Trump and First Lady Melania will host a reception for President Xi and the First Lady at the State Floor of the White House, followed by an honor guard review in the Rose Garden and bilateral talks.

On the evening of the same day, President Trump and the First Lady will host a state dinner in the East Room, where both leaders will deliver opening remarks.

On 25/9, President Trump and the First Lady will invite President Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan to an intimate tea reception at the White House. The two leaders and their spouses will then visit the National Archives to view important founding documents, as part of the activities commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Additionally, Peng Liyuan will participate in a separate program with Melania. The Office of the US First Lady will release further details about this activity.

Experts anticipate that during the upcoming meeting in Washington, President Trump and President Xi will discuss shaping the framework for economic and trade cooperation, AI governance, the possibility of resuming arms control negotiations, and promoting military communication channels. Additionally, the escalating tensions in the Middle East are also expected to be on the agenda.

Not long after departing Beijing in 5, President Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he and the Chinese President would meet three more times this year.

President Trump stated that President Xi had invited him to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen in 11. The US leader added that the Chinese President also plans to attend the G20 summit in Miami in 12.
