Nournews today published a letter from Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, addressed to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The letter states that the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) authorization for its territory to be used for airstrikes is "a wrongful act under international law" and carries "national responsibility".
Under international law, Iran asserts the UAE is responsible for compensation, covering material and moral damages.
The UAE has not yet commented on this information.

The UAE is Iran's second-largest trade partner, after China. For many years, it served as an economic "lifeline" for Iran when Tehran faced severe sanctions.
However, following the launch of an offensive against Iran by the United States and Israel on 28/2, the UAE became Iran's primary target for retaliation. The number of weapons Iran launched at the UAE exceeded that directed at any other nation, seemingly even surpassing those aimed at Israel.
Iran cited the UAE's decades-long strategic alliance with the United States as the reason for its large-scale attacks. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also accused many missiles that struck Iran's Kharg Island of being launched from the UAE, an allegation denied by UAE officials.
Iran has consistently targeted the UAE's energy and transportation infrastructure. The nation's daily oil production has fallen by more than one-half, and the Strait of Hormuz closure forced the UAE's state-owned oil and gas company, ADNOC, to halt extensive production.
