Iran's supreme leader: assassinations of commanders will not shake forces

Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei declared that the assassinations of commanders would not weaken the country's forces, following the death of the IRGC intelligence chief.

Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated on 6/4 that Majid Khademi, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence organization, "dedicated decades of dedicated service in the fields of security, intelligence, and defense." Khademi was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the early hours of 6/4. He had been appointed head of the intelligence organization last June, following the death of his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, during the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.

Khamenei asserted that the assassinations carried out by the United States and Israel were evidence of their deadlock after "a series of failures." He extended condolences to Khademi's family and colleagues, as well as other commanders within the IRGC intelligence organization.

"The ranks of loyal fighters and dedicated armed forces have formed an unshakeable front, where no tactic or crime can undermine their jihadist ideals," Iran's Supreme Leader stated.

Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly since becoming Iran's supreme leader in early March. His statements have consistently been issued in written form.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, accused Khademi of being "directly responsible" for the deaths of Israeli civilians, and also "one of the three most senior commanders" in the IRGC.

Since the conflict erupted on 28/2, Israel has tracked and repeatedly assassinated high-ranking Iranian officials, impacting the country's security system.

However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that their robust political structure means Israel's assassination of high-ranking officials cannot "deal a fatal blow."
