"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked a high-ranking commander from Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command. A nearby synagogue was damaged in the strike," an IDF spokesperson stated on 7/4. "We regret the unintended damage to this synagogue."
The IDF is reviewing the consequences of the attack, affirming it took measures to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command is the body responsible for the operational activities of Iran's armed forces.

Earlier, Iran's Shargh newspaper and Mehr news agency reported that the Rafi-Nia synagogue in central Tehran was completely destroyed. This facility was considered one of the most important places for Jews in Iran to gather and worship.
IRNA news agency said Israeli fighter jets targeted the synagogue and an adjacent building.
Islam is the state religion in Iran, while Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity are minority religions with representation in the country's parliament. Iran has the second-largest Jewish population in the Middle East, after Israel, with an estimated community of 8,000-15,000 people.
According to some sources, Iran has approximately 25 synagogues, several restaurants serving kosher food, a nursing home, a cemetery, and a Jewish library.
