Trump announces two-week ceasefire with Iran

President Trump announced he agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran, contingent on Tehran agreeing to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

"In discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir of Pakistan, they proposed I postpone the planned deployment of destructive forces targeting Iran tonight, provided Iran agrees to fully, immediately, and safely reopen the Strait of Hormuz. I have agreed to temporarily halt bombings and attacks on Iran for two weeks. This will be a two-way ceasefire," U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on the evening of 7/4 (morning of 8/4 Hanoi time).
