Life in Iran amidst conflict

After three continuous weeks of airstrikes, Iranians are adapting, gradually clearing debris, and resuming daily activities like shopping and exercise.

The relentless bombing campaign by the US and Israel, which began on February 28, has devastated many areas in Iran. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a US-based organization, reports that at least 1,300 civilians have died since the conflict began.

In recent weeks, the US and Israel have intensified bombing and missile strikes against Iranian military, security, and intelligence targets. These objectives, often located within densely populated residential areas, have resulted in damage to numerous homes.

Many Iranians report becoming accustomed to the roar of fighter jets overhead and the incessant blare of air raid sirens. They have also grown familiar with the unsettling silence that follows each attack.

In many areas, daily life has resumed, with people shopping for Nowruz, the Persian New Year celebration.

Tehran's market remains bustling with shoppers.

However, many remain hesitant about celebrating Nowruz outdoors, uncertain when bombings might occur.

"I still believe it's dangerous", a 35-year-old shop owner in Tehran stated. "My wife wants us to visit a friend's house in the suburbs to celebrate the holiday, but I don't think that's the right decision."

Some also express a lack of enthusiasm for Nowruz celebrations, unable to gather with loved ones.

For many Iranians, the recent days of conflict have brought a pervasive sense of despair and fear.

On Iran's streets, some residents have begun returning to walking and jogging as airstrikes subside.

The conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran is entering its 4th week with no signs of de-escalation. Washington - Tel Aviv continue to strike targets in Iran and have killed several of its leaders. Tehran has responded with attacks targeting Israel and objectives in neighboring countries.
