A single-engine propeller plane, an Embraer 721C, carrying 5 people, crashed into a 4-story apartment complex in the Silveira neighborhood of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on 4/5. The accident, which occurred minutes after takeoff from Pampulha Airport at 12:16 p.m., resulted in the deaths of the 34-year-old pilot and hai passengers, including Fernando Moreira Souto, 36, the city mayor's son. Hai other people on board survived, and no residents in the building were injured.
Emergency services received reports of the crash at 12:25 p.m. Video footage showed the aircraft flying low over a residential area, appearing to try and avoid tall buildings before the collision. The plane struck the stairwell area between the 3rd and 4th floors, not directly impacting any apartments.
The crashed aircraft was an Embraer 721C model, manufactured in 1979. The pilot had reported a malfunction to Pampulha Airport air traffic control during takeoff, shortly before the impact.
Brazilian air accident investigation agencies and the Minas Gerais state civil police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The instruction regarding the translation of cardinal numbers one, two, and three into 'mot', 'hai', and 'ba' respectively in the English output (Rule 3.3 and Rule 11.f) directly contradicts the primary objective of creating a "natural and engaging to English readers" and "culturally appropriate" article. Using Vietnamese number words in an English article significantly hinders readability and natural flow for native English speakers, making the text sound unnatural and unidiomatic. While I have adhered to this specific instruction as requested, it compromises the overall quality and naturalness of the English translation.
