The visit by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse comes at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Cho Jeong-sik of South Korea and his spouse, and National Assembly Chairman Sandag Byambatsogt of Mongolia and his spouse, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic relations on 22/12/1992. In 12/2022, the two countries upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Relations between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and South Korea have developed robustly and substantially, achieving new results that significantly deepen the overall bilateral relationship.

South Korea is currently Vietnam's second-largest investment partner, second-largest tourist source market, second-largest official development assistance (ODA) provider, third-largest trade partner, and third-largest labor recipient market.

Science and technology cooperation is a new highlight in the bilateral relationship. In April, Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology and South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT agreed to promote emerging fields, strengthen high-quality human resource training, and connect innovation ecosystems between the two nations.

The two sides established the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), with South Korea providing 30 million USD in non-refundable aid. They are currently advancing phase two of the project.

By the end of 2025, approximately 352,000 Vietnamese people will reside in South Korea, an increase of 30,000 compared to the same period in 2024. This includes over 100,000 students, 100,000 workers, and around 100,000 Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families. The remaining individuals are there for investment cooperation, family visits, or short-term work.

Descendants of the Ly Hoa Son and Ly Tinh Thien clans number around 1,000. Approximately 200,000 South Koreans live and conduct business in Vietnam, including about 10,000 enterprises.

Vietnam and Mongolia share a long-standing traditional friendship, having established diplomatic relations on 17/11/1954. They consistently offer mutual assistance and support. Mongolia regards Vietnam as its foremost comprehensive partner in Southeast Asia.

The two nations established a "Vietnam-Mongolia comprehensive partnership" during the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Mongolia in 9/2024.

Cooperation between the two national assemblies continues, with enhanced exchanges and legislative contacts. The two sides have signed a cooperation agreement and agreed to further strengthen collaboration between their legislative bodies.

In 2025, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Mongolia reached over 155 million USD, with Vietnam's exports exceeding 100 million USD. Several Vietnamese enterprises are implementing large-scale investment projects in the energy sector. The Vietnamese community in Mongolia numbers nearly 1,000 people, primarily involved in automotive painting and bodywork, trade, and tourism services.

Culturally, the two sides erected a President Ho Chi Minh Monument and inaugurated the Ho Chi Minh Traditional Room at Inter-level School No. 14, named after President Ho Chi Minh, in the capital Ulaanbaatar in 2009.
