Logan Paul's Pikachu card sold for nearly 16,5 million USD at a Goldin auction on 16/2. This figure includes the buyer's premium paid to the auction house.
The card was purchased by AJ Scaramucci, son of former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci. Representatives from Guinness World Records attended the event. Scaramucci was pictured with Paul and auction host Ken Goldin, wearing the card on a diamond-studded necklace valued at 75,000 USD.

Paul, an actor, boxer, and professional wrestler, boasts a YouTube channel with 23,6 million followers. He originally acquired this card at a record-setting auction in 2021 for 5,28 million USD. A year after his purchase, Paul notably wore the card, encased in a plastic holder on a gold chain, to a WWE wrestling event in Texas.
This Pikachu card holds particular significance as it is the work of Atsuko Nishida, the character's creator. Initially, the card was not sold commercially but awarded as a prize in a 1998 painting competition.

The value of Pokemon cards is determined by several factors: rarity, the character featured, and the artist's name. Cards depicting Mew, Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard often command higher prices. Furthermore, a card rated PSA 10 by Professional Sports Authenticator, a leading industry authority, is considered extremely rare and must be nearly perfect, with clear imagery, four intact edges, and original gloss.
With over 1,000 Pokemon characters existing and new generations introduced every few years, Pokemon cards are constantly traded and collected. The value of certain items has surged recently, attracting not only game enthusiasts but also investors previously uninterested in the franchise.
