Ukraine's general staff reported over 200 clashes along the approximately 1,200 km front line on 10/5. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia had limited large-scale airstrikes but continued offensive operations in many frontline areas.
"The Russian army is not adhering to any ceasefire commitments on the front line and does not appear to be trying to do so," Zelensky said in a message that day, asserting that Ukrainian forces "continue to respond and defend their positions."
Ukrainian officials reported that at least three people were killed in Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks targeting areas near the front line.

Meanwhile, Moskva accused Kyiv of violating the ceasefire agreement over 16,000 times within 24 hours, including thousands of drone attacks. The Russian military stated it shot down 57 Ukrainian UAVs in the past day and "responded proportionally" on the battlefield.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Ukrainian attacks injured four people, including one border guard.
The three-day ceasefire was announced by President Donald Trump on 9/5, part of a US-mediated peace effort to end the over four-year-long conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The commitment to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war per side in the agreement has seen no progress. President Zelensky called on Washington to ensure Moskva fully implements the agreed-upon terms.
The US-backed peace talks remain deadlocked, with territorial demands as a key sticking point. Russia maintains its position that Ukraine must withdraw all forces from the rest of Donetsk province. The parties have also not determined the future of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, currently under Russian control.
The Kremlin announced that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would soon arrive in Moskva to continue negotiations with Russia. Ukrainian chief negotiator Rustem Umerov stated he met the two US officials in Miami to discuss humanitarian issues and coordinate next steps towards peace.
