"We are delighted to announce Usha is pregnant with our fourth child. It's a boy, due in late July," Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance announced on social media on 20/1.
The Vances already have three children: Ewan, born in 2017; Vivek, born in 2020; and Mirabel, born in 2021. It is a rare occurrence for a US president or vice president to have a child while in office.
"We are the most pro-family administration in history. Congratulations," the White House posted on social media following the Vances' announcement.

The Vice President, 41, and his wife, 40, thanked military doctors who cared for their family.
"During this busy time, we are especially grateful to the military doctors who diligently cared for our family, as well as our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to ensure we could serve the country while still enjoying a wonderful life with our children," the Vances emphasized.
In an interview last month, Vance stated that his marriage to Usha is "stronger than ever". Speaking about his family, the Vice President mentioned their three children and how they are adapting to public attention.
"I think our children are always under scrutiny, which has both positive and negative aspects. Our 8-year-old son truly dislikes it. He wants as much privacy as possible. When we attend a White House event, he doesn't like seeing cameras, so we try to keep him out of the spotlight as much as possible," Vance said.
In contrast, the US Vice President's 5-year-old son enjoys the attention. "He likes being treated specially wherever he goes. They always give him candy or cookies," he added.
