US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social on the evening of 1/8 (morning of 2/8 Hanoi time) that the country's military was "locked and loaded" for an unprecedented attack on Iran since World War II. However, Iran and other Middle Eastern nations had requested the US to postpone the attack, citing "the framework of an agreed-upon deal."
Trump stated that under this agreement, the Strait of Hormuz would immediately be fully opened, and the "nuclear threat" from Iran would cease.

"Due to that request, as well as for the future benefit of the world and the existence of a prosperous Iran, I have decided to cancel the attack, on the condition that an agreement can be reached quickly," the US President wrote on the social media platform, adding that Israel was also involved in this commitment.
Officials in Iran and Israel have not yet commented on the information.
