Trump may miss son's wedding amid Iran situation

Trump indicated he might not attend the second wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., as he focuses on reaching an agreement with Iran.

Donald Trump Jr., 48, the eldest son of President Donald Trump, is set to marry Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas this weekend. This marks his second marriage, following his divorce from Vanessa Trump in 2018.

The wedding comes as President Trump is focused on securing an agreement with Iran to resolve a conflict that began in late February. This effort coincides with declining approval ratings for Trump and increased pressure on Americans due to rising gas prices and living costs.

"My son wants me there. It's a small, private wedding, and I will try to make arrangements to attend. I must say, the timing is not convenient. I still have to deal with the Iran issue and many other things", President Trump told reporters at the White House on 21/5, when asked about his attendance.

The US leader added that he was aware of how the media would report if he attended the wedding while the Middle East situation was at a stalemate. "This is a no-win situation", he stated. "Whether I attend or not, the fake news media will still criticize. My son is marrying someone I have known for a long time. I hope they have a good marriage."

Donald Jr., currently an executive vice president at Trump Organization, strongly supports his father's MAGA agenda. He frequently appears alongside his father, most recently earlier this month when they both departed the Mar-a-Lago resort and returned to the White House.

Last year, Donald Jr. mentioned he might run for president "someday". President Trump's second and final term will extend until 1/2029, and he has not yet designated a political successor.

Donald Jr. married Vanessa Trump in 11/2005, and they divorced after having 5 children. He then dated and became engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, whom the President appointed as US ambassador to Greece in 2025 following their separation.

The eldest son of the US President later dated Bettina Anderson, 39, and they announced their engagement at a White House Christmas party in 12/2025.
