Vasyl Goncharuk, head of the Armada defense industry association, appeared in a Kyiv court on 27/7 after Ukrainian prosecutors charged him with negligence leading to fatal consequences. He organized the drone exhibition in suburban Kyiv that Russia attacked on 24/7, resulting in 11 deaths.

The court ordered Goncharuk's 60-day detention without bail, pending trial. He appeared with a limp and stated he also sustained minor injuries in the attack.

"I fully understand my responsibility and hope the court and investigative bodies carry out all necessary investigations", Goncharuk said. Previously, he had requested house arrest.

Ukrainian prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko stated that investigators are examining whether any factors exacerbated the scale of the tragedy.

Armada invited over 300 attendees, including military personnel, state agency representatives, and Ukrainian business figures, without official authorization. The event also provided only one small shelter and drew criticism for being promoted on social media.

According to Kyiv Independent, the venue was a private sports complex.

"The investigation currently focuses on determining how the event's location, time, and participant list fell into enemy hands", prosecutor Ivan Varanytsia said.

Armada stated the exhibition was an invite-only event. Information circulated on social media was not a public announcement, but rather individual invitations. According to the organizers, guests only learned the exact location after completing registration and passing a vetting process.
