Vietnam seeks to strengthen ties with Venezuela

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung stated that Vietnam desires to strengthen and deepen its traditional cooperative relationship with Venezuela.

Politburo member and Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung held a phone call with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto on the evening of 30/1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Minister Yvan Gil Pinto congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam's 14th National Congress on its success. He conveyed congratulations from interim President Delcy Rodriguez and Diosdado Cabello, General Secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), to General Secretary To Lam and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who were elected with confidence at the 14th National Congress.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister praised Vietnam's socioeconomic development achievements, as well as its international standing and prestige. He affirmed that the Venezuelan government and the PSUV value their solidarity and cooperation with Vietnam, expressing a desire for both sides to continue strengthening and expanding cooperation within the framework of their Comprehensive Partnership.

Minister Le Hoai Trung informed about the outcomes of the 14th National Congress, emphasizing that Vietnam monitors the situation and shares the challenges faced by the Venezuelan people. The Party, State, and people of Vietnam consistently value their traditional friendship and solidarity with the PSUV, the Venezuelan government, and its people. Vietnam aims to strengthen and deepen this traditional cooperative relationship, promoting a substantive and effective development of Vietnam-Venezuela ties.

The foreign ministers of both countries discussed recent developments within their respective Parties and nations. They agreed to coordinate in restarting and effectively maintaining bilateral cooperation mechanisms. They will jointly review signed agreements and cooperation projects, as well as potential initiatives and projects, aligning with the strengths and requirements of both sides to establish a new agenda between the two countries. This effort aims to foster their Comprehensive Partnership for the benefit of their peoples, and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in each region and globally.
