By the end of December 2025, total B-segment sedan sales for the year reached 38,939 units, a drop of approximately 16% compared to 2024. Toyota Vios sold 13,424 units, achieving the highest volume in the segment. Honda City ranked second with 10,899 units, while Hyundai Accent fell to third place with 7,088 units. Other models included the Mazda2 with 5,465 units, Mitsubishi Attrage with 1,740 units, and Kia Soluto with 323 units.
Unlike previous years, Vios's success in 2025 was not due to a year-end sales boom, but rather consistent high sales throughout most of the year. From May to December, Vios typically sold over 1,000 units each month, with December recording 1,972 units, its highest monthly figure for the year.
In 2025, Vios led the segment for 8 out of 12 months. Peak sales months at year-end, such as October, November, and December, continued to see Vios in the lead, indicating its status as a preferred choice in the segment when consumer purchases increase. However, Vios's total sales of 13,424 units were still lower than in 2024, when the sedan sold over 14,000 units, reflecting a shrinking overall market.
Honda City replaced Hyundai Accent as Vios's closest rival in 2025. With 10,899 units, City created a clear two-horse race at many points. Honda's sedan showed strong momentum during peak months, especially in the second half of the year, consistently selling over 1,000 units monthly and ending the year with 1,685 units in December. The gap between City and Vios was often only a few hundred units. Compared to 2024, City's sales remained relatively flat.
In contrast to its position as a strong contender against Vios in 2024, Hyundai Accent experienced a clear decline in 2025. With 7,088 units, Accent achieved only about one-half of Vios's sales and trailed City by over 3,800 units. Compared to 2024, 2025 sales nearly halved. After maintaining close competition early in the year, Accent's sales sharply decreased from mid-year, particularly in Q3, when some months saw only 300-500 units sold. Despite a slight recovery at year-end, Accent no longer held its position contending for the top spot as it did in 2024.
In the lower tier, Mazda2 continued to hold a mid-segment position with 5,465 units. Compared to 2024, Mazda2's sales slightly increased, demonstrating its ability to retain a specific customer base despite the overall market downturn. The Mazda model did not participate in the sales race with Vios or City but maintained stable sales, especially in the final months of the year. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Attrage and Kia Soluto were largely out of contention, with total annual sales below 2,000 units, a significant decrease from the previous year.

Compared to 2024, the B-segment sedan market in 2025 showed a clear shift towards Japanese models. Vios retained its role as a "national car" due to its widespread presence and strong purchasing appeal, while City emerged as a direct competitor. Mazda2, though with a smaller customer base, saw stable growth. Conversely, Korean sedans like Accent and Soluto progressively lost their advantage.
