A 52-year-old woman failed to stop at a stop sign at an intersection on 27/2 in Guasave, Sinaloa. Her car was then struck perpendicularly on its front left side by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old male. The impact was so forceful that it redirected both vehicles and completely destroyed the front of the white car.
The impact ejected the woman driver from her car because she was not wearing a seatbelt, causing her to slide several meters across the road. The white car then veered directly into a roadside eatery at the corner. The male driver suffered injuries, while at least 4 diners inside the eatery fortunately escaped harm. The 52-year-old woman sustained severe injuries.
A representative for local security and traffic authorities emphasized that such incidents are not random but a direct consequence of irresponsible driving. He reiterated that traffic regulation aims at prevention, not just collecting fines. Its purpose is to ensure drivers are licensed, wear seatbelts, and avoid using mobile phones while driving.
