On 3/3, VinFast announced a restructuring of its three vehicle lines. The VF series comprises products for individual customers, positioned in the mainstream segment with models from VF 3 to VF 9 and a 7-seater MPV. Lac Hong represents the premium, luxury segment; the company launched its 900 LX, based on the VF 9 platform, in 2025. The Green series is dedicated to service-oriented business vehicles.
The Lac Hong 900S is VinFast's first sedan since its transition to exclusively manufacturing all-electric vehicles, and it is the second sedan from the Vietnamese brand, following the Lux A2.0.

VinFast has released preliminary images, with detailed technical specifications yet to be announced. The 900S is expected to go on sale in 2027. From its side profile, the 900S appears as a large sedan, with a coupe-style C-pillar reminiscent of the Porsche Panamera.

Similar to the 900 LX, the 900S features a large grille with vertical slats. VinFast states that this design is inspired by bamboo, while the bird-wing logo symbolizes the Lac bird from Vietnamese culture.

At the rear, an LED light strip spans the width of the tail, also incorporating the iconic Lac bird wing logo, a symbol in Vietnamese culture. VinFast indicates that the vehicle will be equipped with an independent suspension system and three electric motors, with one positioned in the front and two in the rear.

The company uses materials such as aluminum, chrome, and gold plating to emphasize the luxury nature of this vehicle line. The 900S is developed on VinFast's new platform.

The driver's compartment extensively features leather, wood, and gold-plated metal. The design style subtly evokes images of terraced rice fields and Dong Son drum culture. Incorporating local cultural elements is a common strategy for global luxury car brands to differentiate themselves and attract premium customers who value unique and exclusive characteristics.

The second-row seats offer generous legroom and amenities akin to business-class seats on an airplane. A large infotainment screen is positioned on the partition between the driver's compartment and the second row.
The use of a private partition signifies that this vehicle line is entirely focused on chauffeur-driven executive customers, making it unsuitable for family use.

The Lac Hong 900S is equipped with a starlight headliner, similar to those found in Rolls-Royce vehicles. Leather and wood materials are abundant throughout the interior surfaces.

Other features include zero-gravity seats, push-button doors, and foldable work tables for the second row.
With the Lac Hong series, VinFast aims to diversify its product range and elevate its brand with premium features and designs distinct from the VF series. Creating a luxury brand is a common practice in the automotive industry. For example: Toyota has Lexus, and above that, Century. Honda has Acura, Nissan has Infiniti, Hyundai has Genesis, and FAW has Hongqi. In the ultra-luxury segment, the world has Rolls-Royce, part of BMW, and Bentley, part of Volkswagen.
VinFast was established in 2017. Initially producing gasoline-powered vehicles, the company fully transitioned to all-electric vehicles in 2022. By 2024, it became the best-selling brand in the Vietnamese market with a market share of about 17,6%.
