British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph revealed a new small-displacement motorcycle model, expected to launch in April. This 350cc motorcycle line will first be sold in the Indian market, then in other countries.

The introduction of the 350cc line by Triumph's distributor in India is partly driven by pricing and tax policies for small-displacement vehicles, according to Rajiv Bajaj, CEO of the Triumph and Bajaj joint venture.
Currently, Triumph's smallest motorcycle line in India is 400cc, subject to a 40% GST tax. By reducing engine displacement to under 350cc, the new motorcycle line qualifies for a lower 18% GST tax. This tax adjustment allows Triumph and Bajaj to offer motorcycles at more accessible price points.
The 350cc engine platform is not entirely new; it is based on Triumph's 400cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which powers models like the Speed 400, Scrambler 400, and Thruxton 400.
Consequently, the new engine will feature a smaller cylinder bore to achieve a displacement under 350cc. This will result in a slight power reduction of 3-5 hp compared to the 400cc version, which produces 40 hp and 37,5 Nm.
The 350cc motorcycle model from Triumph is scheduled for launch in April. The British motorcycle brand aims to target a broader customer segment with this 350cc line, leveraging tax incentives and competitive pricing while maintaining the features found in its 400cc models.
In Vietnam, Triumph officially distributes two 400cc products: the Speed 400, priced at VND 169,9 million, and the Scrambler 400 X, at VND 189,9 million.
