In the latter half of november, popular B-segment sedan models are offering significant price reductions, some exceeding 60 million dong, primarily through 100% registration fee incentives. This aggressive pricing strategy aims to boost sales and increase market liquidity for leading models like the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Hyundai Accent.
For the Toyota Vios, the Japanese automaker is fully supporting the registration fee for all three versions. With retail prices ranging from 458-545 million dong, this translates to an effective reduction of approximately 45-55 million dong at dealerships. The Vios has consistently featured promotions almost every month since the beginning of the year.

The Honda City, the brand's best-selling model in Vietnam, also benefits from 100% registration fee incentives. Based on its retail prices of 499-569 million dong, buyers receive a reduction of approximately 50-57 million dong, depending on the version.
Hyundai and its dealership network are offering similar incentives for the Accent. Priced from 439-569 million dong, the Hyundai Accent sees reductions of approximately 44-57 million dong. At some dealerships, these reductions could even exceed 60 million dong to further drive sales.
Despite these efforts, the B-segment sedan market faces challenges. As of october, the Toyota Vios remained the segment leader with over 9,800 units sold. With a lead of over 2,200 units over the second-place Honda City and two months left in 2025, the Vios is poised to retain its position as the most popular B-segment sedan. However, Vios sales saw a 7% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
The Honda City held the second position, despite its sales remaining largely stagnant compared to the same period in 2024. In contrast, the Hyundai Accent experienced the highest decline in the segment, with sales dropping by 42%.
The gradual decline of B-segment sedans in Vietnam over the past two years is largely attributed to a market shift. The increasing popularity of high-ground-clearance vehicles (SUVs/crossovers) and the emergence of small electric vehicles are attracting many first-time buyers for both personal use and ride-hailing services. This trend is evident in the combined sales of Vios, Accent, and City, which totaled 23,206 units in the past 10 months. This figure represents a 17% decrease compared to the same period in 2024 and a 22% decrease compared to 2023.
