A motorcyclist, pursued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for speeding and failing to stop, was involved in a high-speed chase on the evening of 27/7.
With a police car in close pursuit, the motorcycle's speed increased, reaching over 225 km/h at one point, as a news helicopter from ABC7 tracked the chase from above. The motorcycle recklessly overtook several vehicles.
The collision, potentially due to limited visibility or a sudden lane change by a vehicle ahead, occurred at approximately 210 km/h. Sparks ignited as the motorcycle crashed and slid across the road, flipping multiple times. The rider was ejected from the bike, sliding a significant distance.
Despite the high-speed impact, the motorcyclist not only survived but also continued running along the highway, illuminated by the helicopter's spotlight, until apprehended by police. The rider appeared to be wearing full protective gear.
While the CHP hasn't released the motorcyclist's name, the rider likely faces more serious charges than just speeding.
