BYD has unveiled level 4 (L4) self-parking for its God’s Eye advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS). The company pledged to take full responsibility for any damages that occur during ADAS parking. “This move demonstrates absolute confidence in the God’s Eye ADAS," BYD stated.
BYD will soon roll out an over-the-air (OTA) update for God’s Eye versions B and C, including improved parking scenarios and three-speed parking capabilities, according to an announcement on the company's Weibo account.

Level 4 automation signifies that a vehicle can perform driving tasks without driver intervention under specific conditions.
BYD affirms that its L4 parking system adheres to global standards, enabling vehicles to park themselves without driver assistance in certain situations. If an incident occurs, BYD, not the driver, will be held responsible.
Specifically, BYD will cover all repair costs, third-party property damage compensation, and personal injury compensation resulting from system or algorithm errors within the parking assist system, whenever the vehicle is determined to be at fault during legal proceedings.
In the event of a parking accident, drivers can contact BYD directly without involving insurance. The company states that the biggest advantage is that next year's insurance premiums will not be affected, which could otherwise lead to increased insurance costs.
Beyond parking improvements, BYD also announced a major OTA update for the God’s Eye system, enhancing driving and safety capabilities.
BYD launched God’s Eye ADAS in February. The company aims to democratize autonomous driving by offering this feature even in its most affordable cars, starting at 69,800 Chinese yuan (9,700 USD), like the BYD Seagull. On 7/7, BYD announced that the number of vehicles equipped with God’s Eye had surpassed 1 million.
“We are the first company in the world to offer a guarantee for self-parking services," BYD concluded.
