Around 8:45 p.m. on 16/4, on Tran Duy Hung street towards Nguyen Chi Thanh overpass, a black Mercedes rapidly overtook from the right, swerved left, and severely collided with a vehicle equipped with a dashcam. The Mercedes initially continued speeding but then slowed down, forcing the dashcam-equipped vehicle to pull over to the roadside.
An older man then rushed out of the Mercedes, aggressively attacking the driver of the dashcam-equipped vehicle. The two men exchanged loud words, and the older man repeatedly assaulted the dashcam driver before leaving the scene. The assaulted driver reported the incident to authorities and sought medical attention for his injuries.
According to lawyers, aggressive behavior and fighting after a traffic collision can result in administrative fines of 5-8 million VND or criminal prosecution, depending on the severity of injuries. Furthermore, if the aggressive act affects the public, the individual may also face charges of disturbing public order.
In the event of a collision, incidents should be resolved through discussion and negotiation. Any act of actively attacking another person before fault is determined is a violation of the law. Prioritize first aid for victims if there are human casualties. If there is vehicle damage, a dashcam can be used as evidence for a civil settlement. If unresolved, both parties should proactively contact authorities and preserve the scene.
On crowded urban roads, drivers need to be patient, stay in their lane, and wait for an appropriate section of road to overtake. In special situations, such as transporting someone for emergency medical care, drivers can use their turn signals and horn to request other vehicles to yield. However, in any situation, it is necessary to wait until the vehicle ahead yields.
