Mercedes C-class electric interior design revealed

The all-electric luxury sedan inherits technology from the electric GLC, featuring a 39.1-inch full-width display.

German luxury automaker Mercedes has unveiled the interior design of the new C-class Electric, ahead of its global debut. This 2026 model is poised to set new standards in the luxury electric sedan segment. The C-class Electric's cabin shares advanced features with the new electric GLC SUV, most notably a striking 39.1-inch full-width display, which varies by variant.

A key highlight of the C-class Electric is its advanced MBUX system, offering two distinct options: Hyperscreen or Superscreen. The Hyperscreen presents a single, expansive display that stretches across the entire dashboard, providing a seamless digital experience. Alternatively, the Superscreen features three individual screens, meticulously integrated to create a cohesive and sophisticated interface.

The interior of the C-class Electric is designed for comfort and innovation. It boasts newly designed seats and a panoramic sunroof, which Mercedes calls "Sky Control," featuring a star-filled effect. The vehicle also offers a minimalist interior package for those preferring understated elegance. Furthermore, the electric sedan includes a new automatic climate control system, equipped with technology that heats or cools the cabin twice as fast as its internal combustion engine counterparts, ensuring rapid temperature regulation.

Complementing the expansive display is a redesigned, simpler center console. This central unit incorporates convenient features such as two wireless phone charging trays, intuitive physical control buttons, and illuminated air vents, mirroring the modern aesthetic found in the new GLC. This thoughtful layout enhances user experience while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look.

Beyond its luxurious interior, the 2026 C-class Electric integrates the brand's latest advancements in charging and battery technology. It is likely that the new electric C-class will utilize an 800 V electrical architecture, a feature shared with the GLC EV, promising efficient power delivery and rapid charging capabilities. Detailed specifications and pricing information will be announced closer to its official launch date, building anticipation for its market entry.

In the competitive luxury electric sedan market, the C-class Electric is set to rival models like the new-generation BMW i3. The BMW i3 currently boasts an impressive 600 km range and is powered by two electric motors that deliver a combined output of 463 horsepower, setting a high bar for performance and efficiency in this segment.
