Chain-reaction crash caused by car's deadly lane change

On a narrow road section, a car cut off a truck to change lanes, leading to a collision and a subsequent impact with another truck in the opposite lane.

A traffic incident occurred on the morning of 26/7 on Thuan Thanh 5 Road, near the Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge (Bac Ninh). A truck with a dashcam was driving straight, approaching a narrow section of the road, when a car from the right suddenly cut it off. The truck couldn't brake in time and collided with the car, causing it to spin out of control, turn around, and then crash into a truck in the opposite lane. The extent of damage and casualties is currently unknown.

When approaching bottlenecks, merging lanes, or narrow roads, drivers should reduce speed, observe carefully, and avoid competing for the road or cutting off other vehicles as seen in this incident. It's crucial to always yield to vehicles going straight, use turn signals, check the rearview mirror thoroughly, and only change lanes when it's completely safe.

This incident is similar to an accident in early 2024 on a narrow section of the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway, where a 7-seater car recklessly overtook and cut off a container truck, resulting in a collision that killed three people in the 7-seater car.

According to Decree 168/2024 on penalties for road traffic violations, improper lane changes that cause traffic accidents are subject to fines of 20-22 million VND and a deduction of 10 points from the driver's license.
