The incident occurred at an intersection where a child, riding an electric bike without a helmet, swerved abruptly in front of a car to make a turn. The unexpected maneuver, combined with the car's relatively high speed, left the driver no time to react, and the car struck the boy, knocking him off the side of the vehicle. Fortunately, the boy landed in a sitting position and did not sustain serious injuries.

At intersections, all vehicles should reduce speed. When intending to change direction, drivers must use turn signals, observe their surroundings, and only proceed when it is safe. Young students operating vehicles carelessly pose significant safety risks to themselves and other road users.

Additionally, motorcyclists are legally required to wear helmets, which serve as the final line of defense for head protection in the event of a collision. Decree 168/2024 stipulates fines ranging from 600,000 to 800,000 VND for individuals who fail to wear a helmet.

Drivers approaching intersections should also reduce their speed. They must look not only straight ahead but also broadly to both sides to react promptly to unexpected situations.
