iCaur, a sub-brand of Chinese automaker Chery, chose the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 in Indonesia to introduce the V27 EREV. This marks Indonesia as the first country in Southeast Asia where the model is showcased and the first market in the region to launch iCaur sales. At GIIAS 2026, the Chinese automaker began accepting reservations but has not yet announced official pricing.
Previously, iCaur confirmed its entry into the Vietnamese market by late 2026, a company representative told VnExpress during a business trip to China in late April, coinciding with the Beijing auto show 2026. The V27 is slated to be iCaur's first model sold in Vietnam. This high-ground clearance vehicle features a rugged, boxy design and utilizes an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system, which is essentially a series hybrid.

The version displayed at GIIAS 2026 is a left-hand drive (LHD) variant. Notably, interior trim panels on the side-opening tailgate and luggage compartment wall bear a label stating "Prototype Material (mass product will not use this material)".
Regarding dimensions, the iCaur V27 measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, 1,894 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. These dimensions make it 20 mm shorter in length and 70 mm shorter in wheelbase than the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid (5,065 mm long with a 2,970 mm wheelbase).
The vehicle employs an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain and supports 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in 17 minutes. In Indonesia, iCaur will offer the V27 in two variants: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (iWD). Both variants are equipped with a 1,5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. This engine, however, acts solely as a generator to charge the 34,31 kWh battery pack and does not directly power the wheels.
The RWD variant features a rear electric motor producing 248 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque. The iWD variant uses two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 448 horsepower and 505 Nm of torque.
iCaur states the vehicle has an all-electric range of 200 km and a combined range of 1,200 km. The RWD variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5,9 seconds; the iWD version's acceleration time has not yet been announced.
For multi-terrain capability, the vehicle offers multiple driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, all-terrain, slippery, mud, loose, and uneven. It has a wading depth of 600 mm and a ground clearance of 224 mm. The approach and departure angles are 24 and 23 degrees, respectively.
Interior features include a 15-speaker Pioneer sound system, a 15,4-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a panoramic sunroof divided by a longitudinal LED light strip, which iCaur calls 'Starry Sky Island'.
Exclusive features on the iWD variant include an automatic parking system, a brown interior, and 21-inch alloy wheels paired with 265/45 tires. The RWD variant comes with a black interior and 19-inch alloy wheels with 255/55 tires.
For safety, the iCaur V27 is equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) package featuring automatic emergency braking (AEB) and adaptive cruise control (ACC).
The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 is being held from 30/7 to 9/8 at the ICE BSD City Exhibition Center, Tangerang, Indonesia.
