Electric motorcycles with a range of over 200 km in Vietnam

Electric motorcycles with a range of 200 km are all Vietnamese brands: VinFast with three models using LFP batteries, and Dat Bike with two models using lithium-ion batteries.

Unlike gasoline-powered motorcycles that can easily achieve a range of 200-300 km with a full tank, electric motorcycles require more factors to achieve the same range. The biggest challenge is weight. A longer desired range necessitates a larger battery, which significantly increases the vehicle's weight, impacting performance and charging time. Therefore, only a few electric motorcycles on the market achieve this range.

VinFast Feliz S and Klara S2

The Feliz S and Klara S2 are almost identical in performance and range, differing only in design: the Feliz S targets male riders, while the Klara S2 is aimed at female riders. These two models were launched in 2022, with ranges of 198 km and 194 km per charge, respectively.

Similar to most other VinFast electric motorcycles, these models utilize LFP battery technology with a capacity of 3.5 kWh. A full charge takes 6 hours using the included 1,000W charger. The top speed is 78 km/h. They are sold for approximately 38-40 million VND including the battery.

VinFast Evo Grand

VinFast's newly launched model is available in two versions. The top-end version offers a range of 262 km, provided the user purchases an additional 2.4 kWh battery that fits in the trunk. The standard 2.4 kWh battery included with the vehicle only provides a range of 134 km. However, installing the additional battery reduces trunk space to 16 liters from the standard 35 liters.

The Evo Grand has a top speed of 70 km/h. Despite using a removable battery, the vehicle does not have a battery swapping function or external charging for the removable battery. Instead, users charge both the main and auxiliary batteries simultaneously through the vehicle's charging port. The vehicle utilizes LFP battery technology and does not support fast charging. Therefore, a standard full charge without the auxiliary battery takes 6.5 hours with the included 400W charger. The manufacturer has not disclosed the charging time with the auxiliary battery installed.

The Evo Grand's price with the auxiliary battery is 26 million VND, and without it, 21 million VND. The Lite version (with a range of 198 km with the auxiliary battery and 70 km without) is priced at 23 million and 18 million VND, respectively. This is the most affordable model among electric motorcycles with a range of over 200 km per charge in Vietnam.

Dat Bike Weaver ++

The Weaver is Dat Bike's first electric motorcycle model, launched in early 2019. Around late 2021, the Weaver 200 version was released, signifying an upgraded range of 200 km per charge. The Weaver ++, launched in late 2022, featured upgrades to components and the frame but maintained the same range.

The Dat Bike Weaver ++ uses a 4.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, which fully charges in 3 hours with the included charger. The motorcycle has a top speed of 90 km/h. The Weaver ++ is priced at 65.9 million VND, making it the most expensive among the electric motorcycle models with a range of over 200 km in the Vietnamese market.

Dat Bike Quantum S

This electric motorcycle model from the Vietnamese startup was launched around late 2024, with three versions differing in motor power, battery capacity, and range. The two top-tier versions of the Quantum S boast a manufacturer-stated range of 285 km per charge and a full charging time of 4 hours using the 1,800W charger.

The Quantum S reaches a top speed of 90-100 km/h, depending on the version. This model utilizes lithium-ion battery technology, with a capacity of 6.4 kWh for the two higher-end versions, while the base version uses a 4.3 kWh battery, providing a 200 km range per charge. The Quantum S is priced between 35.9 and 50.9 million VND.
