Officer Will Prigge reported that the young driver was operating a Ram 1500 Big Horn pickup truck at 61 mph (about 98 km/h). This speed is particularly dangerous for a large pickup, which requires longer braking distances and is more challenging to control quickly if a pedestrian or another vehicle suddenly crosses its path.

Despite the clear violation, the woman immediately admitted to speeding. "My grandmother just had a heart attack a few minutes ago. I was on my way to pick her up, which is why I was driving so fast," she explained.

Officer Prigge then asked if emergency services had been called to assist her grandmother. Initially, the driver affirmed she had called, but then changed her story, stating that her family preferred she personally drive her grandmother to a private cardiology clinic. Noticing several inconsistencies during their brief exchange, the officer checked the driver's violation history. The results surprised authorities: 10 violations in less than 24 months.

"I was going to give you a warning," the police officer said before informing her that she had been pulled over 9 times previously for speeding. This incident marked her 10th violation.

Police also added that the woman had used all 3 of her allotted chances to attend traffic safety courses — a policy designed to reduce penalties for offenders. In essence, she had exhausted her lifetime allowance for safe driving education in less than 24 months.
