Hyundai's luxury brand has issued one of its most unusual recalls. This issue affects only the Savile silver G90 when its highway driving assist (HDA) mode is active.
This specific paint color, containing aluminum, can deceive the vehicle's front corner radar. The system may incorrectly detect a vehicle cutting into the lane ahead, triggering sudden automatic braking and potentially leading to collisions with unforeseen consequences.

Genesis states this phenomenon occurs in G90 vehicles when HDA operates below 19.3 km/h and lane change assist is active.
The recall impacts 483 Genesis G90 vehicles sold with Savile silver paint from 2023-2026. Genesis will replace the front bumper free of charge with a new, more enclosed design to resolve the issue.
Additionally, the automaker will add a new, enclosed radar module to newly produced G90 models. Production of the Savile silver G90 version has been temporarily halted since 2/11 and will only resume once the production line integrates the new radar type.
According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Genesis has received 11 separate reports of this defect causing unnecessary sudden braking. Although no accidents or injuries have been reported, Genesis aims to address the potential issue.
In July, Genesis previously recalled 2,345 G90 units manufactured between 2023-2025 due to a startup error related to the digital instrument cluster. This issue caused the screen to remain blank after starting the vehicle, preventing drivers from seeing their speed, fuel level, or remaining battery capacity. The company resolved the problem with a software update.
