On 27/7 in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, a Mahindra Thar Roxx overtook several vehicles by driving into the oncoming lane. The driver failed to see a motorcyclist approaching. The resulting collision threw the rider from his bike.

After falling, the man stood up and looked towards the SUV. Instead of stopping, the driver reversed quickly, knocking the motorcyclist down again.

Jammu police confirmed the incident after a video circulated on social media and took swift action. The SUV was impounded following a formal complaint. 20-year-old Manan Anand, son of the Thar Roxx's owner, was identified as the driver and is currently a fugitive. Police have arrested his father.

India Today quoted the victim’s son as saying, “My father was hit twice by the Thar driver. He should be charged with attempted murder. My father is in intensive care. Doctors say he has a fractured skull. His condition is critical.”

Jammu police have launched a full investigation. Attempted murder charges have been added to the case.
