Japanese manufacturer Honda introduced a promotional program for its ICON e: electric motorcycle in the Vietnamese market just after the Lunar New Year. Consequently, the selling price of the ICON e: across all three versions will decrease by 5 million dong, bringing the price to 21,9-22,3 million dong from 17/2 to 31/3.
The promotional price does not include the battery; customers must pay an additional 350,000 dong per month to rent the battery.

Competitors of the ICON e: include the VinFast Evo Grand, priced at 21 million dong (including battery), and the Yadea Oris, at 23 million dong (including battery). However, opting to purchase the battery for the ICON e: will add approximately 10 million dong to its price. This presents a significant barrier for Vietnamese customers considering Honda's electric motorcycle.
The ICON e: is assembled in Vietnam. It features a compact design, weighing 89 kg with a seat height of 742 mm, targeting urban commuters. The ICON e: utilizes a rear-wheel motor with an output of 1,5 kW (2 horsepower), meeting electric vehicle standards that do not require a driving license. It has a maximum speed of 50 km/h.
Honda's electric motorcycle is equipped with a battery pack capacity of 30,6 Ah at 48 V, equivalent to 1,5 kWh, providing an operating range of 70 km. In contrast, its competitor, the Evo Grand, has an operating range of 134 km and can be fitted with an auxiliary battery for a travel distance of up to 260 km. The Yadea Oris offers the same operating range as the ICON e:.
This marks the second price reduction for the ICON e:, aimed at stimulating demand in Vietnam's increasingly competitive electric motorcycle market. Despite its praised build quality and stable operation, the ICON e: still faces pressure from significantly higher ownership costs compared to models with similar motor power and battery capacity.
