Japanese automaker Honda introduced the Prelude concept, a hybrid sports car for the Indonesian market. The Prelude is a 2+2 coupe with front-wheel drive. Honda's sports car shares similar dimensions with the Toyota GR 86 and Subaru BR-Z, but those models feature rear-wheel drive.

The Prelude concept was displayed at the 2025 GIIAS, but Honda did not disclose detailed specifications. According to Bestcarweb, a Japanese automotive news website, the production version of the Prelude will feature the e:HEV powertrain.
The engine is likely a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine similar to the new Civic and Accord. This setup generates 207 horsepower, less than the GR 86 and BR-Z. The report indicates that Honda's sports car will use an electric CVT, different from a conventional automatic or dual-clutch transmission. These specifications are for the Japanese market and may vary in other countries.
Honda plans to release the production version of the Prelude later this year, first in the domestic market, then in other countries.
In addition to the Prelude concept, Honda also showcased other models at GIIAS 2025, including the Super EV concept mini electric vehicle, the CR-V, the HR-V, and the new StepWGN e:HEV (a three-row wagon).
