A private vehicle importer in TP HCM began selling a batch of Honda Vario 125 2026 in February. Honda also officially distributes the Vario in Vietnam, imported from Indonesia.
While both are Vario models, the Japanese manufacturer offers two versions: a 125 cc engine and a 160 cc engine, each with distinct designs. The 125 cc version features a more aggressive and sporty look, while the 160 cc version has a softer, urban style.
The privately imported 2026 Vario 125 is an upgraded version. It features some changes to its exterior and equipment, while the engine remains unchanged. The similar model officially available in Vietnam is still the previous version.

The new Vario features a redesigned, more angular fairing. It also includes additional plastic panels on both sides of the fairing. The side profile has been refined, and the taillight has a new design.
Honda's scooter retains standard features such as: LED headlights and taillights, a digital speedometer, a phone charging port in the storage compartment below the handlebars, a front disc brake (without anti-lock braking system), and a rear drum brake. The under-seat storage capacity is 18 liters. Both wheels share 14-inch rims.
Regarding the engine, the Honda Vario 125 2026 continues to use an SOHC, liquid-cooled engine, producing 11,1 horsepower and 10,8 Nm of torque, coupled with idle stop technology. It features a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The scooter has a fuel consumption rate of approximately 1,9 liters per 100 km.
The price range of 44,8-46,9 million dong for the privately imported upgraded Honda Vario 125 is approximately 4-5 million dong higher than the previous version sold officially. The Vario 125 distributed by Honda Vietnam is currently priced between 40,7 million dong and 41,2 million dong.
According to the manager of an imported vehicle dealership, private establishments often choose to bring in models that are not yet officially distributed or newer models not yet available in Vietnam. This caters to a niche group of customers eager to acquire the latest vehicles early. When official distributors also offer vehicles of the same model and type, the prices of privately imported vehicles typically decrease to remain competitive.
